CFP - Disobey2025
Hello you amazing Disobey CfP volunteer,
It is time for the annual grand opening for the Disobey 2025 event talk submitting aka Call for Papers! We do know you have the most amazing talks for our next event and to the community around the event.
The theme of the year 2025 is:
”Is this it?”
The revolution will be AI-prompted?
Whatever happened to hackers building, restructuring, defending and redefining the world we live in, and now everything is about AI.
The revolution isn't over—it's evolving. As ethical hackers, we must reclaim our narrative and redefine innovation in the age of AI. It's not about following trends; it's about challenging the status quo and ensuring that technology serves humanity, not the other way around. We are the architects of the future. The tools have changed and will change, but our mission remains: to disobey, innovate and create a better world. It’s up to us to write the next chapter and shed light on the unknown future.
We would love to hear what you wish to offer to the Disobey 2025 event and community!
WANTED
Disobey's Program Committee wants YOU with your talks about hacking, new research or “everyone needs to know about this” ideas. We like technical talks, "hack the system" kinda talks, "I broke this thingy" talks and "hack me if you can" kinda talks as well as” early in the days we did it like this, but nowadays we..”.
Topics we are interested in (but not limited to): pentesting, exploitation, censorship, privacy, any issues on the field of hacking or whatever you like. However, don’t bother with FUD or “my shiny new product” talks; we’re not interested. This is not the place to market your company nor its products.
Chatham House Rule is in effect during the event to promote openness and sharing of information.
“Under the Chatham House Rule, anyone who comes to a meeting is free to use information from the discussion, but is not allowed to reveal who made any particular comment. It is designed to increase openness of discussion”
Enter your proposal by 6.10.2024.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
- Up to 45 min on the stage or if you have more time and want to run a workshop, then you’ll get two or more hours. Let us know your preference when entering your CfP.
- One speaker badge + free ticket / entrance for two days of amazing time with fellow enthusiasts.
GOOD TO KNOW
- All our talks are recorded, but you have a final say in publication. Please let us know whether or not we are allowed to publish your speech, when sending us your CfP. There is a field in the form for this permission. We are not asking for this permission at further point, so please state your opinion at the CfP portal while providing your CfP proposal.
If you wish to change the short information of your speech or introduction of yourself, we are kindly asking you to do it at CfP portal.
After you have sent us your CfP proposal possible communication from our side is done through the email you provided at the CfP portal. Please make sure you have no spelling errors in your email address and that the address you provided is the one you are reading. We will provide technical speaker information to the selected CfP speakers closer to the event through the email you provided us.
In the portal we are kindly asking you to provide us your phone number, so that we can catch you during the event or before that if necessary. Please make sure the phone number is correct and the one you are using.
Your mugshot, introduction of yourself and shortening of your speech will be used at the events webpage, social media and schedule to provide our visitors more information about what's next on stage. If you need to change something, please do it at the CfP portal.
If you have specific wishes regarding your speech or workshop, please let us know this through CfP portal. We might be hackers, but not wizards so we keep the possibility to reject these wishes. Usually these wishes regard the number of tables or chairs, electricity or cables at the stage or workshop area.
Please make sure your presentation ends at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time. This means that if you have booked yourself a 30 min speech, we would appreciate it if you could be off stage after 25 minutes or if you have booked 60 min presentation time, you could be off the stage after 55 minutes. If you are holding a workshop it should end 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
When submitting your speech together with a co-speaker, please provide us with full information on both of you including mugshots at the submitting phase. Additions to the number of speakers or workshops are not allowed later on.
Submitting a proposal to the CfP does not mean that you will be selected as a speaker nor that you will be given a ticket to the event. Only those speakers whose talk was selected to the Program will be provided with an entrance ticket to the event. The ticket is for personal use only. There will be no +1 or avec tickets for the speakers. Max 2 tickets per speech, and both speakers have to be on stage.
There might be changes within the schedule with short notice, so please check the schedule regularly during the event.
We might need to freeze the CfP portal from further changes closer to the event so that our team will have time to make possible changes to the program, web pages etc. so please make your modifications to the information you have provided us at the CfP portal latest by 6.10.2024.
Our powerful but small Program team is waiting for your speeches to arrive after which we will start evaluating those. The evaluation phase will take a few weeks depending on the numbers of papers received, but also our Program team’s schedules. Please do not try to affect our Program team during the evaluation.
All of the submitted talks cannot be selected to the program as there is not enough room in the schedule! However, some of you will get a kind request to volunteer to stay stand by with a pre-prepared presentation if any of the speakers are unable to attend with a short notice.
