It is time for the annual grand opening for the Disobey 2027 Call for Papers! We do know you have the most amazing talks for our next event and to the community.

The theme of the year 2027 is: "10 Years of Unf*cking the System"

If the theme sounds familiar, it should. It first appeared on a Disobey t-shirt years ago. It wasn’t just a cool shirt. It captured something we still believe in. H*ck things. Break sh*t. Do st*ff. Leave the system a little less f*cked.

Back in 2016, we threw together the first Disobey. We had no idea what it would become. And honestly? We barely knew what we were doing, but we learned. Along the way, we’ve started projects, built communities, made friends, shared knowledge, broken things, fixed things, and started over. More than once.

In 2027, Disobey celebrates its 10th anniversary event. A lot has happened since we started. And we're not done yet. Not even close.

What began as a small gathering of likeminded hackers became communities. Ideas became projects. Projects became movements. Some changed the people behind them. Others changed the people around them.

That's what this year's theme is about.

The ideas that refused to stay ideas. The side projects that got out of hand. The things that weren’t supposed to work. The things that somehow did. Not perfect. Just a little less f*cked.

WANTED

Disobey's Program Committee wants YOU with your talks about hacking, new research or “everyone needs to know about this” ideas. We like technical talks, "hack the system" kinda talks, "I broke this thingy" talks and "hack me if you can" kinda talks as well as ”early in the days we did it like this, but nowadays we...”. Show us how something works, why it failed, how you fixed it, or why it shouldn't exist in the first place. Tell us about the unexpected discoveries, the rabbit holes and the lessons learned the hard way. If it's a fresh talk we haven't seen elsewhere, even better, though that's not a must.

Topics we are interested in (but not limited to): pentesting, exploitation, censorship, privacy, any issues on the field of hacking or whatever you like. However, don’t bother with FUD or “my shiny new product” talks; we’re not interested. This is not the place to market your company nor its products.

The 2027 theme, 10 Years of Unf*cking the System, is an invitation, not a limitation. If you've got something worth sharing, we want to hear it.

Since 2027 marks Disobey's tenth event, here's also a challenge for our past speakers: revisit your old talk. What happened next? What changed? What surprised you? What broke? What turned out to matter? We'd love to hear the story years later.

Chatham House Rule is in effect during the event to promote openness and sharing of information: “Under the Chatham House Rule, anyone who comes to a meeting is free to use information from the discussion, but is not allowed to reveal who made any particular comment. It is designed to increase openness of discussion”.

CFP DEADLINE

Please submit your proposal by 20.9.2026. We won't accept proposals after the deadline and will not be maintaining a waitlist for late submissions.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

• Up to 45 min on stage, or 2 or more hours if you'd rather run a workshop. Please indicate your preference when submitting your CfP.
• One speaker pass and free entrance for two days of amazing time with fellow enthusiasts.
• +1 avec ticket for a guest of your choice. Both the speaker ticket and the avec ticket are for personal use only.

GOOD TO KNOW

Recording & Publication

All talks are recorded, but you decide whether yours is published. The submission form includes a field for this permission, so please indicate your preference when you submit your proposal. This is the only opportunity to do so, as we won't ask again at any later point.

Updating your information in the CfP portal:

• If you need to update the short description of your talk or your speaker bio after submitting, please do so directly in the CfP portal.
• After you have sent us your CfP proposal, possible communication from our side is done through the email you provided at the CfP portal. Thus, please ensure the email address provided is correct and regularly checked.
• You must provide a valid phone number in the CfP portal. This is a prerequisite and needed for us to be able to contact you before or during the event.
• Your mugshot, introduction of yourself and short summary of your speech will be used at the events website, social media and schedule to provide our visitors more information about what's next on stage. If any of this information needs updating, please make the changes in the CfP portal.
• Important: The CfP portal will be locked for edits closer to the event so our team can finalize the schedule, website, and related materials. Please make sure all your information is accurate and complete by 20.9.2026.

Timing

Please keep your talk within the allocated time. A countdown timer (30 or 45 min) will be visible on stage, and your talk must end by the time it reaches zero. Note that there will be no audience questions at all.

Special requests

Each stage has technical staff and basic equipment for your presentation: power outlets (Type F, 230V), handheld and headset microphones, HDMI and 3.5mm audio, a downstage monitor, and wired and wireless internet. If you prefer, we can run your presentation (PPT, Keynote, PDF) on the technician's PC and provide a clicker. In this case, you need to send the presentation to us beforehand. Please include any other technical or logistical requests in the CfP form when you submit. Our technical team may follow up with you regarding your technical requests. We'll do our best to accommodate your needs, but can't guarantee every request.

Co-speakers

A maximum of two speakers are allowed on stage per talk. If you're submitting with a co-speaker, add them to your CfP in the portal during submission and provide full information for both of you, including photos. Additions to the number of speakers or workshop facilitators are not allowed later on.

Speaker selection

Submitting a proposal doesn't guarantee selection or a ticket. Only speakers whose talk is accepted into the program receive an entrance ticket, which is for personal use only. This year, each speaker also gets one +1 avec ticket. With a maximum of two speakers per accepted talk, that's up to four tickets per talk. Both speakers must be present on stage during the presentation.

If your talk is selected, we'll be in touch closer to the event with more information, reminders, and a dedicated speaker FAQ page to help you prepare.

Evaluation process

Our Program team will begin evaluating proposals once submissions close. Before then, we may reach out with additional questions about your proposal if anything needs clarifying, so please keep an eye on your inbox. The evaluation phase itself takes a few weeks, depending on the number of proposals received. Please don't try to influence the team during evaluation.

We're genuinely grateful for every proposal. Due to limited space in the schedule, we can't include them all. Some of you may be invited to volunteer as standby presenters with a pre-prepared presentation, in case a scheduled speaker can't attend on short notice. If you're considered for this role, you'll receive a direct email with more information, so please keep an eye on your inbox.
