Disobey 2026

CFP - Disobey2026

Hello you amazing Disobey CfP volunteer,

It is time for the annual grand opening for the Disobey 2026 event talk submitting aka Call for Papers! We do know you have the most amazing talks for our next event and to the community around the event.

The theme of the year 2026 is: “First Principles”

Question what you know. Build what you need. Break things down. Revisit the fundamentals - to understand what still holds. Not to resist change, but to shape it.

A return to basics, or a leap into the unknown. A keynote, a workshop, a spark that starts a conversation.

This year’s theme is an open invitation: explore what drives you, and share it with others who care. Revisit what you know. Share what you’ve learned. Build something new. Where it goes is up to you.

United by curiosity, united by Disobey.

We would love to hear what you wish to offer to the Disobey 2026 event and community!

WANTED

Disobey's Program Committee wants YOU with your talks about hacking, new research or “everyone needs to know about this” ideas. We like technical talks, "hack the system" kinda talks, "I broke this thingy" talks and "hack me if you can" kinda talks as well as ”early in the days we did it like this, but nowadays we..”.

Topics we are interested in (but not limited to): pentesting, exploitation, censorship, privacy, any issues on the field of hacking or whatever you like. However, don’t bother with FUD or “my shiny new product” talks; we’re not interested. This is not the place to market your company nor its products.

Chatham House Rule is in effect during the event to promote openness and sharing of information: “Under the Chatham House Rule, anyone who comes to a meeting is free to use information from the discussion, but is not allowed to reveal who made any particular comment. It is designed to increase openness of discussion”

Enter your proposal by 30.9.2025

WHAT YOU’LL GET

  • Up to 45 min on the stage or if you have more time and want to run a workshop, then you will get 2 or more hours. Please indicate your preference when submitting your CfP.
  • One speaker badge + free ticket / entrance for two days of amazing time with fellow enthusiasts.

GOOD TO KNOW

Recording & Publication

All talks are recorded. However, you decide whether your talk is published. Please let us know whether or not we are allowed to publish your speech, when sending us your CfP. There is a field in the form for this permission. This is the only opportunity to do so, as we are not asking for this permission at any further point.

Updating your information in the CfP portal:
  • If you need to update the short information of your speech or speaker bio, please do so directly in the CfP portal.
  • After you have sent us your CfP proposal, possible communication from our side is done through the email you provided at the CfP portal. Thus, please ensure the email address provided is correct and regularly checked.
  • You must provide a valid phone number in the CfP portal. This is a prerequisite and needed for us to be able to contact you before or during the event.
  • Your mugshot, introduction of yourself and short summary of your speech will be used at the events website, social media and schedule to provide our visitors more information about what's next on stage. If any of this information needs updating, please make the changes in the CfP portal.
  • Important: The CfP portal will be locked for edits closer to the event to allow our team to finalize the schedule, website and related materials. Please ensure all your information is accurate and complete by 30.9.2025.
Timing

Please ensure that your talk stays within the allocated time. A countdown timer (30 or 45 min) will be visible on stage and the talk must end at the latest when it reaches zero. Please note that there will be no audience questions at all.

Special requests

Each stage has technical personnel and basic equipment available for you to run the presentation: power outlets, handheld / headset microphones, HDMI and 3.5mm audio connection, downstage monitor, wired and wireless internet access. If you wish, we can also run your presentation (PPT, Keynote, PDF) on the technician's PCs and provide you with a clicker. In this case, you need to provide the presentation to us beforehand. If you have any other technical or logistical requests or questions, please include them in the CfP form at the time of submission. Our technical team might be in contact with you regarding your requests. While we will do our best to accommodate your needs, please note that we cannot conform to every additional request.

Co-speakers

A maximum of two speakers are allowed on stage per talk. If you are submitting a proposal with a co-speaker, please provide us with full information for both of you (including mugshots) in the CfP portal during the submission phase. Additions to the number of speakers or workshop facilitators are not allowed later on.

Speaker selection

Submitting a proposal to the CfP does not mean that you will be selected as a speaker nor that you will be given a ticket to the event. Only speakers whose talk is selected to the Program will be provided with an entrance ticket to the event. The ticket is for personal use only. There will be no +1 or avec tickets for the speakers. Max 2 tickets per speech, and both speakers have to be on stage.

Evaluation process

Our Program team is eagerly waiting for your speeches to arrive after which we will start the evaluation process. The evaluation phase will take a few weeks depending on the numbers of papers received, but also our Program team’s schedules. Please do not try to affect our Program team during the evaluation. We will contact you once the evaluation is complete. Please also check your spam folder just in case, to avoid missing any important updates.

We are genuinely grateful for each and every proposal submitted. Due to limited space in the schedule, not all submitted proposals can be included in the final program. However, some of you may receive a kind invitation to volunteer as standby presenters with a pre-prepared presentation, in case a scheduled speaker is unable to attend on short notice. Should you be considered for this role, you will receive a direct email with further information, so please keep an eye on your inbox.
